Description

A fine example of the work of Ronald A. Broad, depicting a landscape scene in Ashmansworth, North Hampshire. The very fine and detailed trees, as well as the intentional craquelure effect in the sky area, highlight this wonderful winter scene. There are three labels to the reverse with inscribed location, title, artist's name and date. The inscriptions regarding the location read: 'From a field of Lower Manor Farm - looking south - Stony Lane running down the left of the picture.' Well-presented in a fabric slip and in an off white wooden frame. On board.

Condition

Overall in good condition, with very light discolouration and some surface dirt. Inspection under UV light shows no signs of restoration. Some scuffs and marks to the frame.

Size

38 x 44.2cm (15" x 17.4")
