Artist Biography
Self-taught artist born in St. Albans, Hertfordshire. A prolific painter he has exhibited at all the important art societies including the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Pastel Society, Royal Academy of Arts, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, the Royal Watercolour Society, at the Bankside Gallery. Royal Society of Marine Artists, New English Art Club, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the Royal Society of British Artists, all at the Mall Galleries in London. Dellar has also participated in the Singer & Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Exhibition and outside the capital at the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol. He is the holder of a City & Guilds Teaching Certificate and has conducted many workshops in Essex and in Delaware, USA. Roger Dellar is a member of the Wapping Group of Artists, the Chelsea Art Society, the Langham Sketching Club and in 2011 was elected an Honorary President of Haslemere Art Society. He is a regular contributor to the Artist Magazine and Artist and Illustrator and his work is in the collection of Surrey University.
