Dozeman was born in Assen, Holland in 1924. He lived and worked in many places but settled in Waalwijk in 1965.
He studied under Mrs Schipper at Bloemendaal, but for the greatest part he is autodidact. Dozeman was an impressionist painter but later in his career he started painting in a more unique style using various techniques.
