Rima Farah (b.1955, Jordan) and Kevin Jackson (b. 1954, Portsmouth). Farah and Jackson started collaborating on prints with Islamic themes in 1982 and jointly ran the New Crane Etching Workshop in Wapping. Their collaborative etchings focus on the colours, textures and forms of the Middle East. They normally took one object as a central element, such as the colours and pattern of a carpet. A characteristic of their etchings is the use of 'blind embossing' which gives the print a sculptural form as well as a foil for the other active designs. They work separately now and regard the work that they did together as crucial to their artistic development.
