Chattock, Richard Samuel (Solihull, England, 1825 1906). Richard Samuel Chattock 'Richard Chattock': A landscape etcher and painter, Richard Samuel Chattock exhibited at the Royal Academy, London, from 1869 to 1891. Although much appreciated for his work in oils, Richard Chattock achieved more recognition for his original etchings. In this regard he was a frequent contributor to such publications as Fifty Choice Examples of Modern Etching, The Portfolio and The Etcher. He was also the author of Practical Notes on Etching, first published in 1883. R. S. Chattock was a full member of the Royal Engravers.
