Reiner Zeeman - Rare Original 1654 Etching. An interesting etching listed in Bartsch Vol.5, page 128, N.4 as a rare Reiner Zeeman artwork. Hinged at the upper edge to thin backing card. "De twee Blockhuysen or den Amstel Buiten Amsterdam". Printed on laid paper bearing a crown watermark. Signed in plate. On watermarked laid. Trimmed inside plate and some foxing, otherwise in fine condition.

Reinier Nooms (c.1623 -1664), also known as Zeeman (Dutch for "sailor"), was a maritime painter known for his highly detailed paintings and etchings of ships. He was probably born and died in Amsterdam.
