A finely detailed landscape in gouache, by the artist Reginald Daniel Sherrin (1891-1971), depicting a scene on Dartmoor, Devon, England, near Buckford. The artist has produced this well-balanced and detailed composition, with a sense of depth and feeling for the natural rugged terrain. Dartmoor is a vast moorland in the centre of Devon, with wild ponies, craggy tors, rivers and unusual rock formations. Signed by the artist to the lower left. Well-presented in a distressed gilt wooden frame, as shown. Signed and incsribed on the reverse. On wove.

Condition

The condition is fine for a picture of this age, with a clean mount and only minor marks and scuffing to the frame. There is a small spot mark on the inside of the glazing.
