Artist Biography
Raymond Moisset studied at the National School of Applied Arts and Crafts in the 1920's although he is often considered to be self taught in the school of painting. He is mostly known for his vibrant expressionist paintings.
In 1935, with peers Pierre Tal-Coat, André Marchand, Georges Rohner and Robert Humblot, he help to found the Forces Nouvelles group which denounced any intellectual pretension of painting, giving no other vocation to painting than to provide a emotion through the humble reality of things. Together, they refused to paint with any ideology and focused on the world around them.
