R. Salas after Serafin Martinez del Rincon y Trives - 1888 Oil One More Victory
Description
A charming romantic scene after a painting by the Spanish history and genre painter Serafín Martínez del Rincón y Trives (1840-1892). The original work was painted circa 1886. This copy was executed shortly after the original in 1888. The original is held by the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid. Signed and dated to the lower right. Well presented in a vintage gilt frame featuring lamb's tongue, foliate, and beaded running patterns. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
Overall, the condition is very good for a picture of this age. The artwork has undergone some restorative work, including canvas tear repairs and areas of overpainting. Discolouration and craquelure to the paint layer. Warping to the canvas in the upper left corner. Cracking to the running patterns, resulting in some small losses. Wear to the corners.
