Description

A fine crisp hand-coloured mezzotint by Richard Josey (1840-1906) after an original painting by Percy Thomas Macquoid (1852-1925), entitled 'Othello and Desdemona'. The works depicts the central characters from Shakespeare's 'Othello', reimagined as canines. Inscribed to the lower edge 'London. Published on Sept 1st 1885, by Dowdeswell & Dowdeswells, 133 New Bond Street W'. Well-presented in a gilt wooden frame, as shown. Unsigned dated and inscribed. On wove.

Condition

In very good condition overall. Some very light surface discolouration, and very small spots of discolouration to the very lower edge. The frame has light wear to the surface, but is very good overall.
