A delightful late 19th century watercolour from British artist R. Esdaile Richardson. The artist has depicted a quiet and expansive beach scene, with tall cliffs and rippling seawater. Three figures can be seen, facing away from the viewer, and a young girl can be picked out playing in the shallow pools of water. Richardson is better known for his charming studies of boats and seascapes, The Royal Collection Trust possess his study of 'HMS Victory by moonlight', and his work is possessed by private and public collectors.
