A charming mid 19th-century watercolour by the artist Pieter Gerardus Bernhard (1813–1880), depicting a luminous white pheasant amid the leafy grounds of Arendsdorp, a historic estate in the Netherlands. The work is rendered with remarkable sensitivity and an impressive command of the medium. Signed and dated. Beautifully presented behind glass in an ornate gilt frame. On paper.

Discolouration to the paper. Some wear to the frame, including scuffs, chips and stable cracking. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
