Description

A later nineteenth, possibly eighteenth-century strike from a sixteenth-century engraving by Philip Galle. The third plate from 'The Idler's Punishment.' Features a Latin inscription in the lower margin. Unsigned. Illegibly inscribed in pencil verso. On laid.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age, including discolouration and dirtying to the paper. Foxing throughout. Loss to the lower left. Minor wrinkling to the paper. The print has been previously trimmed beyond the plate lines and laid to another piece of paper.
