Artist Biography
Born in Dolgellau in North Wales in 1943, he studied at Harrow Art School where he was introduced to printmaking and made his first black and white etchings based on the local slate towns of Wales. One of these was accepted for the RA Summer Exhibition; it sold and at the age of 19 Greenwood was launched on his career as an artist. Travels in Europe followed and teaching on his return to England, and by his late 20s he was a fully-time professional artist.
