The title is inscribed at the centre of the lower edge of the mount. Signed and dated to the lower-right edge. Artist's label on the verso. On watercolour paper.Condition
There are some mild dents and scuffs to the frame but overall in fine condition.

Peter Whittock was an accomplished nautical artist who exhibited at the Royal Society of Marine Artists. Before painting full-time he worked as a tugboat skipper. His first-hand experience of ships and the sea underscores the detail and affection of his artistic style.
