Peter Oakley was born in Stafford in 1935 and studied at Stafford College of Art before becoming a teaching at Edge Hill College.
He is best known for his painting and printmaking and has exhibited around the U.K. in the Walker Art Gallery, the Hanover Galleries and Preston Art Gallery.
In his later life he travelled to Egypt and this has been reflected in his later works.
