Artist Biography

Peter John Stuckey (1921-2013) was a British artist born in Bristol. He attended school in the village of Frenchay until him and his family moved to London in 1927. His father, Sidney John Stuckey, was in the military, serving in the First World War in the Rifle Brigade, and was also a military artist.
Stuckey's subjects range from aviation scenes, landscapes and nautical views and his technique is quite distinctive. He mostly works in black ink with a fairly blunt tipped pen and watercolour. Stuckey often inscribed his drawings with their subjects or locations.

The artist's works can be found in the collections of the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, the Frenchay Village Museum, the Fleet Air Arm Museum and the National Museum of the Royal Navy.
