Peter Gillies studied Fine Art at the University of Exeter and Nottingham Trent University. He held the Artescape Fellowship in Painting at Lincoln in 1987 and has been awarded major prizes in both the South West of England and South Yorkshire Open Exhibitions. He currently teaches Painting and Printmaking at Bretton Hall College, University of Leeds and is visiting lecturer at the School of Cultural Studies, Sheffield Hallam University.
