A fine watercolour painting with gouache details by the well-listed British artist Percy Dixon. The scene depicts a small village with figures by a river, and mountains in the distance. The thoughtful colour palette and precise brush strokes clearly highlight the artist's proficiency in the subject and medium. Signed and dated to the lower right-hand corner. Well-presented in a golden card mount and in an ornate gilt effect frame. On watercolour paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor foxing. Minor marks to the mount. Some scuffs and moulding losses to the frame.

Artist Biography
Percy Dixon (1862-1924) was a painter born in Southport, Lancashire. He was active as a painter from the 1880's onwards, and exhibited at the Arlington Gallery, Dudley Gallery, Dowdeswells, the Royal Academy, RI Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Hibernian Academy, Walker Art Gallery, Manchester Academy of Fine Arts and Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour. He lived in Bournemouth, Dorset, where his death was recorded.
