Dappled light filters through verdant foliage in this serene landscape study by British artist Paul Gunn (b.1934). An inscription to the verso identifies the location as Ramster, near Chiddingfold in Surrey, where the artist lives. Signed and dated to the lower left. Well presented in a gilt frame with a beaded running pattern. On board.Condition
Some craquelure to the paint surface; however, the condition is good overall. Light wear to the frame.

Artist Biography
British artist Paul Gunn was born in 1934 in London, the only son of Sir James Gunn RA. He was educated at Ampleforth College, and then spent two years in the Life Guards. It was only after his father died in 1964 that he took up painting seriously, studying at the City and Guilds School in Kennington. He has exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, as well as numerous one man shows. He now mostly exhibits by appointment at his home in Ramster, Surrey.
