Description
An intimate early 20th-century interior scene depicting a Dutch woman absorbed in the time-consuming task of traditional lace making. The artist's muted palette and loose brushwork complements the sitter's quiet patience for the task in hand. The painting has been well presented in a gilt-effect frame with laurel leaf running pattern. Signed by the artist to the lower left. Signed and titled to the reverse. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Some minor dirtying to the surface of the oil and light wear to the ornate laurel leaf frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
