Paul Bisson (b. 1938) - Artist's Proof Etching with Aquatint Slipway
Description
A highly detailed and well observed view of a dockyard by the well listed British 20th century artist Paul Bisson. Bisson's attention to detail is superb and the resulting composition offers the viewer an intimate narrative of this dockyard's history. Seemingly unpopulated, there are piles of discarded materials and a derelict harbour hut which implies that this once busy dockyard has fallen out of favour. Executed in etching with aquatint, numbered Artist Proof 10/35. Well presented in a cream double mount and modern silvered frame. Signed and inscribed. On wove.Condition
An area of tiny surace spots to the sky, which could be removed with surface cleaning. However, the overall appearance is very good. The frame is in good condition.

Artist Biography
Paul Bisson was a Guernsey born artist who studied at St. Martin's School of Art and the Royal Academy. This is an excellent example of the etching and aquatints that Bisson produced later in his career when living in Hastings. His work has been exhibited widely in the UK and internationally.
