Pair Of Early 19th Century Lithographs - German Lithographic Portraits
Description
A fine pair of exquisitely hand coloured, early 19th century lithographic portraits from Germany. The portraits show oriental characters including Zuleika, the daughter of the Pasha Giaffir, and her lover, the pirate Selim.
Both lithographs have inscriptions with artist's names at the lower edges.
On wove.Condition
Both lithographs have heavy discolouration and some dirtying to the surface. One portrait has a watermark and crease across the upper left and lower right corners. The other has discoloured tape along the lower edge and slight mount burn. Both lithograph's inscriptions have been partially obscured by trimming.
