Norman Netherwood ARCamA (1886-1958) - Watercolour Aberglaslyn, Wales
Description
A beautiful view of a mountainous river landscape at Aberglaslyn in Snowdonia, Wales. Beautifully presented in a gilt frame with bead and reeding detail. With an old label verso giving the artist's address as '13 St. David's Avenue, Llandudno, Gwent'. Signed.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some very minor discolouration, but overall the appearance is very good. There is a line of discolouration to the upper edge, but this would be hidden if the watercolour was re-fixed in the frame. The frame has some minor wear and small losses to the outer edge, but the overall appearance is good.

Artist Biography
Norman Netherwood was a Huddersfield born painter who lived for a time at the same Llandudno address as Arthur Netherwood - it is likely that they were either father and son. Like Arthur, Norman exhibited numerous paintings at the RCamA of which he was an Associate. He is recorded as having studied at Sheffield College of Art. His death was recorded at Conway, Caernarvonshire, Wales.
