Norman Lloyd was a painter born in Hamilton, New South Wales, Australia. He studied at the Sydney School of Art and on the Continent before settling in England after World War I.
In 1930 he emigrated to London and was elected to the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 1935 and the London Sketch Club. He also showed at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and the Fine Art Society before retiring to live in France in the 1960's.
