Description

An agricultural scene of two heavy horses pulling a plough by the significant equestrian artist Norman Hoad. Presented glazed in a grey and cream double mount and distressed gilt-effect frame. Signed to the lower-right edge. On wove.

Condition

A few minor chips and dents to the edges of the frame. Overall in excellent condition.

Artist Biography

Hoad was a painter and Air Vice-Marshall who was born in Brighton. He was a founding member of the Society of Equestrian Artists in 1979, which exists with the sole aim of encouraging the art of equestrian painting and sculpture and thereby advancing public appreciation and understanding of this art form. Annual exhibitions are usually held in August at the Mall Galleries, London.
