Norbert Feliers (1924-2014) was a Belgian painter, draughtsman, sculptor and ceramist. He studied decorative arts from 1949 to 1952 and then painting from 1952 to 1956 at the Academy in Eeklo. Feliers's work often focused on the human figure, drawing inspiration from folk figures, animals and cityscapes, and his expressionist style frequently conveyed a sense of drama and emotional intensity. Over his career his style evolved from a strong emphasis on line and surface toward a more fluid, colour-rich artistic language.
