Description

A fine late 19th-century still life depicting an arrangement of fresh seafood, prepared straight from the sea. Rodriguez has paid careful attention to the texture and natural colouring of the catch, from the brightness of the prawns' pink shells to the fleshy interiors of the oysters cut open with a sharp knife. The work is presented in an ornate gilt Rococo-style frame with elaborate foliate ornamentation at the corners. Signed lower right. On panel.

Condition

The artwork presents in very good condition for its age. Inspection under UV light reveals some minor restoration in areas of the background. The frame has minor surface wear, including small chips and scuffs.
