Description

An original etching by Mortimer Luddington Menpes (1855–1938), depicting the cobblestone courtyard and timber-framed architecture of the historic Mermaid Inn in Rye, East Sussex. Presented mounted in a slim black frame. Signed and inscribed below plate lines. On paper.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age. Light foxing to the paper. The frame has minor surface wear and scuffs. Light debris caught behind the glazing. The artwork is in very good condition for its age.
