A fine late 19th/early 20th century watercolour portrait miniature of Princess De Lamballe. The princess can be seen wearing a blue dress with white ruffle and bow. Her styled wig has been pinned with white flowers and blue ribbons, all delicately hand painted with good detailed brushwork. Presented behind glass in an ornate gilt metal frame with pierced surmount and oval window. With original hanging ring and frame leg. On Ivorine.
Condition
The miniature itself is in fine condition. The decorative gilt metal frame is in a tarnished condition. The green velvet has been lost to the inner surround and the textile cushion back has faded in colour.
