Description
A finely executed Italian watercolour costume illustration from the mid 19th Century, showing a porter in an attractive light blue suit, carrying a luggage trunk on his shoulder, initialed "L.D" (possibly the artist's initials). Unusually, the porter is depicted with tattoos of the cross on his forearm. Tattoos were not often depicted in this genre of 19th Century painting. The artist has inscribed in Italian (translating to "Porter"). The painting is unsigned and attractively presented in a contemporary simple oak frame with white card mount. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration.
