A charming lithograph with hand colouring, one of a number of novelty prints produced between 1830 and 1860 that utilise flaps, tabs, or rotating wheels to create integrated moveable parts. The scene depicts Prince Albert driving a carriage with Windsor Castle in the background. When the top of the carriage is opened, it reveals Queen Victoria seated with three of her children: Victoria, Princess Royal, King Edward VII, and Princess Alice. The publisher, Dean & Co, specialised in the production of mechanical prints and would later establish themselves as the leading publisher of children's pop-up books. On paper.
