Collection Information
From a sketchbook which appears to have been in the possession of the family of Lady Maria Theresa Lewis (1803-1865), a lady of literary tastes. Some of the drawings are signed A.B. Lister; Alice Beatrice was daughter of Lady Maria Theresa from her first marriage to novelist Thomas Henry Lister. Others are inscribed ‘Kent House’, the marital home in Knightsbridge of Lady Maria Theresa and her second husband Sir George Cornewall Lewis, 2nd Baronet.
