An expressive rural landscape by the well-listed artist Michael Barnfather (b.1934). The artist has chosen a vivid amber and red sky to evoke a sunset setting over the village of Dormington in Herefordshire. Several techniques have been used in order to produce a variety of textures, giving the painting a dynamic feel.
Well-presented in a painted wooden frame with cotton detail, as shown. Framing information label on reverse. Signed and dated in the lower left hand corner with an inscription on reverse, as shown.

Artist Biography
Michael Barnfather is a leading English landscape painter. Born in 1934 in the town of Ilkeston, Barnfather trained at the Derby College of Art before working as a technical artist for Rolls Royce. Intense, but with a quiet manner, he is most caring about his work, and spends a great deal of time studying the subjects of his landscapes. He has an eye for the fitness of a picture and has applied his talent in the layout of his home and the gardens around his studio. He has submitted his work to various exhibitions and galleries.
