Artist Biography
Michael Alan-Kidd studies art at Slade School at University College London and graduated in 1980. He considers the greatest influences on his art to be surrealism and cubism. He works bring a rational thinking to these two notoriously imagine styles and put them into a more relatable social context. He describes his work as Protest Surrealism and despite making many cubist and portrait works, he always comes back to Surrealism as his main artistic inspiration.
