Wood engraver born at Corringham, Essex, the daughter of a master mariner. She studied with Claude Flight at the Grosvenor School, and with Leon Underwood at his Brook Green School in west London. Although her work has become relatively unknown since World War II, she was a well-known member within the artistic milieu of the 1930’s, travelling to Dalmatia with Leon Underwood, Blair Hughes-Stanton and Gertrude Hermes.She was a member of the English Wood Engraving Society, a splinter-group of the Society of Wood Engravers and produced several works for the Golden Cockerel Press in 1936, including Paradise Lost and Roses of Sharon. She was also a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle and of the Ipswich Art Club, and examples of her work are in the collections of the Ashmolean, British Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
