Mary Elizabeth Duffield RI (1819-1914) was born in Bath, the daughter of flower painter T.E. Rosenberg who spent all his life in the city. She married the Bath still-life painter William Duffield. She exhibited flower studies of very high quality from 1848-1912 and is one of the best-known flower painters of the Victorian period. She published 'The Art of Flower Painting' in 1856. There are examples of her work in the V&A.
