There is a small loss in the upper left corner and various small tears towards the edge of the page, none of which interfere with the image itself.From a collection of artworks in graphite, charcoal and oil by Mary Cecilia Crompton (1899-1981) who was an amateur artist but of no little talent, who on several occasions exhibited at Nottingham Castle. Many works in the collection depict animals including horses, cats, dogs, rabbits and birds and this was clearly a favourite subject of the artist. Other subjects include lanscape and still life studies.
