Marius Bauer - Original Late 19th Century Etching. Signed with monogram. On laid. Age toning.Marius Alexander Jacques Bauer (1867-1932) was a Dutch painter and printmaker. He was a member of the Pulchri Studio in The Hague. Later in his life he was created a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau. Bauer was the artist who began the trend amongst British printmakers towards depicting the orient. In contrast to his English Contemporaries his etched style shows a rapid, sketchy technique.
