An attractive watercolour painting by the artist Marion Broom, depicting a blue vase with flowers. Signed to the lower margin. Well-presented in an oval, wash line card mount and in a distressed, gilt-effect frame. On watercolour paper.


The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor scuffs to the frame, otherwise in good condition.

Artist Biography

Marion Broom RWS (1878-1962) studied at the Royal College of Music and sang in opera for a time. A painter in oil and watercolour, Broom was a prolific exhibitor. showing at the Abbey Gallery, Arlington Gallery, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Cooling Galleries, Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Walker Art Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts, Royal Cambrian Academy, Royal Hibernian Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours Royal Institute of Oil Painters and Society of Women Artists. She lived at High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and her work is in the collection of Leamington Spa Art Gallery.
