Marie Garnier (b.1870)- French School Graphite Drawing, Self Portrait as a Child

An exquisite late 19th century French drawings by Marie Garnier. This is presumable a self portrait of the artist as a school girl - the inscription to the lower left of the mount reads 'Pensionnat de Bazougers' which translates to 'Bazougers boarding school'. The artist has used highlights of white pencil to depict the delicate lace on her dress and the petals of her poesy of daisies. The drawing has been presented in a beautiful hand embellished mount with inscriptions.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor foxing. There tiny worm holes and one slightly larger hole. The sheet edge has some wear where it has been placed in the mount.
