Artist Biography
Margaret Peach is a portrait and landscape artist who painted from an early age. She studied at Reading University under Professor Anthony Betts, who encouraged his pupil to concentrate on portraiture. Achieving a BA with First Class Honours, she spent a postgraduate year at London University. Raising a family took Margaret Peach away from painting for some years, but she returned to portraiture in the late 1970s, exhibiting at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Most of the inspiration for her landscape painting is derived from the Tweed Valley, where she is attracted to portraying sheep and pigs in the varying light and seasons around her home.
