Description

A charming Impressionist work by Belgian artist Marcel de Lincé (1886-1958). Captured with subtle impasto and an earthy palette, the work depicts a watermill and autumnal trees. Signed to the lower right. Indistinctly inscribed to the verso. Well presented in a gilt frame with foliate motifs and a beaded running pattern. On canvas board.

Condition

Overall the artwork is in very good condition. Some slight discolouration. Cracks and small losses to the frame.

Artist Biography

Marcel de Lincé (1886-1958) was a Belgian painter. He first trained at the Saint-Luc school and then at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège. He was a member of the art circle 'L'Envol', which was created by Edmond Delsa to promote Walloon painting. The Museum of Walloon Art in Liège, Wittert Museum, and Province of Liège art collection hold examples of his work.
