A delightful forest floor still life in the manner of Otto Marseus van Schrieck (1613-1678). To the lower left a magpie can be seen attacking a small bird whilst another looks on in horror. Condition
There is widespread craquelure to the surface and numerous losses throughout, particularly to the edges. Discolouration to the varnish and areas of staining, notably to the upper margin. Wear and fraying to the edges of the canvas.
