Description

A watercolour depicting figures standing among the ruins of a gothic abbey in the manner of Samuel Prout OWS (1783-1852). The painting bears a particularly close similarity to Prout's 'In the Cathedral Porch', in the collection of the Royal Watercolour Society. Presented in a beige and pale pink double mount and a fine gilt frame with ornate floral and foliate ornaments at the corners. Unsigned. On watercolour paper.

Condition

There is some mild discolouration and some slight scratches to the frame.
