A finely executed portrait of a gentleman in profile, rendered in watercolour and pencil in the manner of Richard Dighton (1795-1880). The subject is identified as Sir Joseph Henry Hawley, 3rd Baronet (1813-1875), an English racehorse owner and breeder. Well presented in a black frame with a gilt slip. Unsigned. On paper.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age including discolouration and light foxing to the paper. Marks and scuffs to the frame, as well as a small loss to the upper right corner.
