Description

Several figures tend to a herd of cattle in this large oil landscape. Although the artwork is unsigned, it is reminiscent of Dutch Golden Age artists such as Karel Dujardin, Paulus Potter, or Adriaen van de Velde in subject matter and composition. Well presented in an ornate gilt-effect frame. Unsigned. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

Discolouration and dirtying to the surface. The artwork has undergone previous restoration, including a patch to the lower left, overpainting, and relining. Areas of flaking to the upper margin. The frame is in good condition.
