In the style of Armand Schönberger (1885-1974), this striking modernist work takes direct influence from the Expressionist and Cubist movements of the first half of the twentieth century. The scene depicts a couple in a deconstructed interior seated at a table, their faces expressing sorrow whilst their hands touch gently. The painting bears the signature 'Schönberger' to the lower right, but we do not believe this is an original work by Armand Schönberger (1885-1974). The painting is well presented in a plain gilt-effect frame. On cardboard.
