A fine graphite study of a the marble statue 'Boy with Goose', located in the Louvre, Paris. The original artist of the sculpture was a Roman named Boethos.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. their is light foxing. their are some pinholes in the bottom left and right hand corners.

Artist Biography

After leaving school, Malcolm Rogers was apprenticed in the City of London to a Commercial Art Studio, producing material for the Press, Magazines and Music Publishers.

During this period he studied part-time at the Clapham School of Art, and later at the Epsom School of Art and Design, successfully combining a business career with painting, until moving to Sussex in 1979, thereafter making this a full time pursuit.

He has received international art awards from France (Gold and Silver Medals, Paris Salon); Florida, U.S.A. (Miniature Art Society of Florida); London (‘Spirit of London Exhibition’ by the G.L.C.); and been ‘hung’ in the Royal Academy. He was awarded first prize in the Channel 4 T.V. Programme on Conservation, in 1985.

Malcolm Rogers was invited to exhibit at the ‘Queens Silver Jubilee Exhibition of Marine Art’ in London 1977, in Washington D.C. with the society of Miniaturists and Gravers, and in various shows organised by the Mall Galleries and federation of British Artists. Works are in private collections in England, Scotland, Canada, Sweden and many in the U.S.A. Paintings are also owned by H. M. Crown Commissioners, The Cunard Steamship Co., and the P. & O. Shipping Company and other international corporations.

He has enjoyed painting in Norway, France, The Western Isles of Scotland and the Channel Islands, in many parts of England including Cornwall, and of course Sussex, in all media and many subjects.
