Description
A scene in Durham featuring Elvet Bridge and Durham Cathedral after Jack Merriott (1901-1968), an English author, artist, and poster designer famous for his artworks produced for British Railways and the General Post Office. Presented in a distressed gilt-effect wooden frame. Signed to the lower-left corner. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
There is some discolouration to the varnish and some minor surface dirt. There are some slight marks to the surface and scuffs and scratches to the frame. Overall in good condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.
